About The Event
TAs cannot afford to wait for a good deal from McGill. Join us at our TA Assembly on Tuesday, January 30th at 5:30pm to discuss our negotiations and decide how we win!
Two weeks after our rally and a month and a half after we deposited our monetary demands, we're still waiting for a monetary offer from McGill.
With a wage frozen since August 2022 and dire signs that graduate students are struggling financially, it’s shameful for the employer to stall the negotiation process and have nothing to offer. It’s one thing for them to say they are going to “lowball” us (a direct quote), it’s another thing for the pitch to never come.
Do we sit by and wait for their bad offer? No!
It’s time we organize our response to McGill’s non-response. Hear from your Bargaining, Bargaining Support, and Mobilization Committees, talk about the issues, and develop our plan to win at our TA Assembly!

Please remember to sign your membership form before the meeting! Only TAs who have signed their membership form in the past 12 months are voting members of their union.
We strongly encourage everyone to attend in person if possible. In-person attendance helps to build a greater sense of solidarity through direct interactions and meaningful conversations before, during, and after the meeting.
Please only join by Zoom if you are out of town, have health-related concerns, caregiving responsibilities, or are experiencing other challenges that preclude you from attending in person. Thank you for participating in building a stronger union. ✊ And don't forget—dinner is on us!
We ask that you wear a mask, if you attend in person. In November, the General Assembly voted to require masks at union events for the foreseeable future. The meeting coordinators will ensure there are N95 masks in case you forget your mask at home.
The meeting link and agenda will be sent to those who register in advance of the meeting. For any secret ballots, the ballot will be sent to your email to everyone who is present in the meeting at the time of the vote, in accordance with labour law.
